Every time I come to Izakaya osen it never disappoints. My must order is their toro uni bowl $38. You get so much value from this especially because you can make so many little hand rolls and it’s perfect for sharing. They also have super good tuna crispy rice. Their rice is not hard and perfectly deep fried. ($23) and you can’t go wrong with any of their nigiri. I loved the king salmon ($5.70) I would definitely say this is a go to spot for me especially if I’m craving sushi and want to sit down somewhere nice. The service is excellent and the food always delivers.

Inside Cozy and has an outside sitting area. Recommended to outside seating.. more room. I think the sushi rice would be even better if it were a little softer. It was a bit firm for my liking.

I took my husband here for his birthday and this place is definitely my number 1 right now! We went on a Tuesday at 4pm and there were only 3 other parties seated when we got there. It was very clean and we were welcomed when we opened the door. We both ordered the premium 12 piece omakase (~$100 each) and we could tell much thought and preparation went into each fish that was served. Each piece was a master piece; professionally cut and sauced that we didn't have to do anything but put wasabi on top. The cold draft asahi was a great pairing with their ice cold beer cups. Even the wasabi and ginger tasted of great quality! If you're an uni lover, definitely come try from here because they have the best uni I've ever had! I did take off one star because when the tray of omakase was delivered, they did not provide an explanation of what was being served. I feel like having that explanation is all part of the omakase experience. We've ordered omakase at plenty of different sushi restaurants in LA, Japan, and Hawaii and they've always explained to us each dish that was served. It could have been because we sat at a table away from the chef, but even then the server would tell us what's on the plate. Either way, the fish was so delicious this small inconvenience is easy to overlook. I would go back, but maybe sit at the bar closer to the chef.

It was great! It is pricy compared to "Shirube" - the best izakaya in LA. However, food was beyond my expectation! Sashimi was fresh cut and every sashimi came with different sauce. ( There was only one Amaebi tho🥲) Kabocha was interesting. In Japan, we usually simmer with soy sauce and sugar but they make it like a salad. It was good though! Miso Nikomi Udon was flavorful as well. Different from the original Nagoya Misonikomi, but I still enjoyed! Dried persimmons are soooo good! Cream cheese was way too big! It killed dried persimmons. But still persimmons are good! I would definitely come back!! MUSIC CHOICE IS GREAT

I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of this neighborhood izakaya. The grill meats were tasty and sashimi was fresh. They had a nice touch of caviar with gold flakes on top. Service was great. Food came out fast Over all worth it.
